Dion T. Harrigan Ph.D.
Dr. Dion T. Harrigan was born on the beautiful Island of Antigua. He later migrated to St Croix U.S.V.I. where he spent his formative years.
He attended the University of the Southern Caribbean (CUC) where he obtained a BA in Theology. After graduation he served in the North Caribbean Conference on the islands of St Croix and Montserrat where he was active in evangelism, youth ministry, and teaching.
Sensing a need to be equipped for more effective service, he continued his formal education at Andrews University where he completed his M.Div. at the SDA Theological Seminary. After his theological training, he enrolled in the School of Education where he completed his MA and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction.
In the Northeastern Conference he served as the Associate Pastor of the Linden SDA Church in Laurelton NY. He also served as Associate Pastor of the historic Hanson Place SDA Church in Brooklyn NY. Dr. Harrigan shepherded the Bethany SDA Church in Westbury Long Island, and most recently, he served as pastor of the Lebanon SDA Church in Laurelton Queens.
In addition to his years serving the Adventist church, he also worked
in higher education in Michigan and New York. He served as an Accreditation Director and professor, and at Nyack College as Head of the Adolescence Education Department and Founder and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Faith Ethics and Learning (CAFEL) at the School of Education. He is a tenured Professor of Adolescence Education.
Dr. Harrigan is married to his college sweetheart the former Grace L. Moses from the Spice Island of Grenada. Sister Harrigan is also a graduate of University of the Southern Caribbean and Andrews University. The Harrigans have two adult children: D’Shawn, who is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Neuropsychology in Florida, and Donyelle a Special Education teacher in Michigan. The Harrigans share a team ministry, and their determination is to lead as many people as possible to serve Jesus and to be saved when He comes.
